Record Book 1830-35, Page 328 Written: May 20, 1833 Recorded: November 7, 1833 "I Absolom Stinchcomb of the State of Georgia and County of Elbert being old infirm in body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament (viz) First of all my just debts to be paid Secondly, I give unto my wife Mary all the land plantation and houses whereon we now live. I also give my said wife Mary my negroe man Reuben and negroe woman Charity and negro girl Liza and one grey mare and three cows and calves and one half of my stock of hoggs and sheep and one half of all the household furniture and all the Plantation tools during her natural life. Thirdly, I give unto my grand children that is to say the children of Levi Stinchcomb all the land on the south east side of Doves Creek to certain marks on trees thus (70)A.S. which land is by no means to be sold but must be kept and held by my Executors for a home and the benefit of the aforesaid grand children untill the youngest of them shall be of the age of twenty one years. I also give unto the said grand children one negroe girl by the name of Mariah and after the death of my wife Mary I give them the said grand children the negroe girl Liza, both of said negroes to be for the benefit of said children and not to be sold untill the youngest of them shall become of the age of twenty one years. I also give unto the said children one cow and calf and two ewes and lambs. Fourthly, I give unto my daughter Lucy M. Hall all my land on Deep Creek and one negroe woman called Hannah and one colt called Buck one cow and calf and four heads of sheep. Fifthly, I give unto my son Philip my negroe man Jeter and negroe woman Nelly and one half of a lott of land drawn in my name in the late land lottery number one hundred and one District the sixth section the second and also fifty dollars in money. Sixthly, I give unto my daughter Polly C. Sewell all the lands whereon I now live as far as the above marks (70)A.S. and lying north west of said marks with all the improvements thereunto belonging also I give my said daughter Polly C. Sewell my blacksmiths tools one large copper kittle which lands tools and kittle is not to be taken out of the possession of my wife Mary during her life time. Seventhly, I give to my daughter Caty Andrew my large iron pot and large iron kittle. Eightly, I give unto my son Nathaniel half of the land that I drew in my name number one hundred and one in the sixth District and second section in the late land lottery. I also give him my son Nathaniel one hundred and fifty dollars, my waggon and geer and all the horses and cattle that has not been bequeathed in the foregoing Items and after my wifes death he the said Nathaniel to have my negroe man Reuben. Ninethly, I also give my son Levi Stinchcomb all my cloths of every description. Lastly, I also leave to my wife Mary the priviledge of disposing of all the property that I have not given away as she may think proper. do also appoint Philip Stinchcomb and Joseph Sewell Executors to this my last Will and Testament. Bond who after being duly sworn deposeth and saith that they saw Absolom Stinchcomb (now deceased) assign the above Will freely and of his own pleasure without compultion and seal and deliver the same on the day of the date thereof that they believed him to have been of sound mind and disposing memory at the time he assigned the same, that they assigned the same as witnesses and that they saw Gains Thompson assign the same as a witness along with them in the presents of the said Absalom Stinchcomb and in the presence of each other.
