In the name of God Amen. I, William Teasley of the State and County aforesaid being very sick and weak, but, of a perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God calling unto mine the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of the almight God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a clean and Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting, but, at the general resurrection I receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate herewith it has pleased God to bless in this life I give and bequeath to Sarah, my dearly beloved wife all the tract or tracts of land that adjoins where on I now live(except apart that I give to John Horton, my son-in-law), estimated at seven hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less during her natural life and at his death to be equally divided between my daughters Anna and Amelia. I further give unto Sarah my wife my negroes, together with my stock of all kinds, household and kitchen furniture and every article belonging to my plantation freely to be enjoyed by her during her natural life and at her death to be divided amongst my children equal. "I give to John Horton in his wife Winney's right part of the tract of land mentioned above Inclosed in the following boundaries (viz) Beginning at the south east corner of the old field eastward of said Horton's plantation running parrallel with the branch to the south to the line of said hence west along said line to the branch then go down siad branch to the old field fence, thence along said fence to the ____ ___ corner lot. The quantity of land be great or small, I further give unto the said Horton a lot of land in Wilkinson County State aforesaid, I give to Thomas Horton in the right of his wife Elizabeth, one lot or tract of land on the county of Houston State aforesaid. "I give unto the heirs of Levi Teasley, dec., one lot of land granted to Julian Nail in the sixth district originally Baldwin County now the county of Jones. I give to Thomas Jefferson Teasley, three hundred dollars of the money I have on hand. The remainder of my property both real and personally that has not been mentioned, I wish to be equally divided amongst my children and I do hereby appoint Thomas Horton and Will Lunsford, executors of my estate of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disalow, revoke and disanule all and every other former testaments Wills, legacees, bequests and executors by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed radifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four. Teasley James O. Landers William Landers Lauchlen McCurry" The above Will was proved on 3 Jul 1824. [Submitter's notes: Thomas Jefferson Teasley was the son of his daughter Anna Teasley (1791-1857). Anna later married 28 Oct 1824 to Wesley C. Crisler and the family, except Thomas Jefferson Teasley, moved to Alabama before settling in Hinds Co., Mississippi where both died and are buried in Spring Ridge Cemetery.(Ref: Teasley Magazine, May 1987, by Kyle D.
