Clarke" I saw your post on the Emanuel County, GA website on Abraham Shepard LANE and this information disagrees with mine. I show Abraham Shepard LANE (1757-1848) was born in Edgecombe County, NC and married Martha WOOD (1762-about 1838) and not a Betsy MILES, although he could have been married twice. This is confirmed by the fact his father, John LANE, Sr. was born in Duplin County, NC and lived in Halifax and not in Wake County, NC. John's brother, Joseph LANE lived in Wake but I show all of John's children were born in Duplin County, NC. ASL also died in Jenkins County, GA and is buried Lane Cemetery, Jenkins County, GA. I only show one child for him but I assume there was more -- a John LANE who married Mary HEATH.
