The Augusta Chronicle July 21, 1958
     SWAINSBORO, GA.  - The Hawhammock Baptist Church near Swainsboro in Emanuel
County, will 
celebrate its 116th anniversary Sunday, with Homecoming, a family reunion, basket
dinner and special 
services.
     Descendants of the first deacon of the church, Reuben Boatwright, will conduct
the services. A great 
grandson of Boatwright, Guy Boatwright, of Point Canaveral, Florida, will preach at
the morning service at 
11 o'clock. Another great grandson, Reuben Barfield, of Indiana, will conduct the
afternoon service 
beginning at 2 o'clock.
      Present pastor of the church is Frank L. Brinson, who is also great grandson
of the first deacon.
     The annual Boatwright Reunion will be held and all descendants, and relatives
of the Boatwright family, 
and friends are invited.
