The Augusta Chronicle July 25, 1969
     Annual homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Hawhammock Baptist Church, near
Swainsboro, Ga., 
marking the church's 127th anniversary. It was founded in 1842.
     Charter members were Elisha and Lucretia Coleman, Benjamin E. and Mary Brinson,
Celia Sconyers, 
Reuben and Lacy Boatwright.
     Brinson served as the chruch's first clerk and Boatwright was one of the first
deacons and a great-
grandfather of the church's present pastor, the Rev. Frank Brinson.
