Odom Cason Funeral services for Mrs. Dallas P. Odom Cason, 82 of Swainsboro, was conducted at 3pm Saturday from Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Reid Davis officiated assisted by the Rev. Donnie Bush with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cason died Thursday in Old Capitol Inn Nursing Home in Louisville after an extended illness. A native of Emanuel County, she was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Moxley of Norristown and Mrs. Jeanette Davis of Swainsboro; four sons, James "Winky" Odom, Jerry Odom, and Barry W. Odom, all of Swainsboro and Dr. Bennie Gene Odom of Statesboro; a brother, Oscar Peacock of Savannah; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were G. C. Watkins, Jimmy Peacock, Jake Riner, Charles Radford, Robert Henry, Ralph Smith, David Hall, and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Newborn Hutcheson, Roy Douglas, Harvey Tapley, Charles Larry Wilson, James Jones, and deacons of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Dallas was born 2 Sep 1910 to joseph Jackson Peacock and Elmira Kersey Peacock. Her 1st husband, Bennett W. Odom, is also buried in Sardis.
