Funeral was conducted at 4pm Sunday from the chapel of Shadowlawn Mortuary, Swainsboro. the Rev. Donnie Bush officiated. Burial was in Youngblood Cemetery near Dellwood. The Emanuel County native was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are her husband, William Chavis of Swainsboro; a daughter, Miss Bonnie Gail Chavis of Swainsboro; five sons, Jimmy, Richard, and Mikel Chavis, all of Swainsboro, Jerry Chavis of Augusta, and William Chavis Jr. of Springfield; her mother, Mrs. Dessie Bell Wilcher of Augusta; six sisters, Mrs. Helen Lovett and Mrs. Romana Bunch, both of Clinchfield, Mrs. Joan Barwick and Mrs. Betty Matthews, both of Swainsboro, Mrs. Grace Daniels of Bartow, and Mrs. Susie Faircloth of Augusta; a brother, William Wilcher of Augusta and two grandchildren. Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Myrtle was born 1-4-1936 to William B. "Bill" Wilcher and Dessie Bell Bush Wilcher.
