She was a life long resident of Swainsboro. Funeral service will be held, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Swainsboro First Baptist church with Rev. Allan Meeks and Dr. Bob Blankinship officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. She was the wife of the late Adam Lamar Claxton. Survivors include four daughters and son-in-laws, Martha and Al Lawson, LaRose and Herbert Gunn, Diane and Jerry Lawson, Charlotte and Billy Edenfield all of Swainsboro; two sisters, Eunice Sconyers and Mary Free, all of Swainsboro; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, February 27, 2004 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Emanuel County Nursing Home.
