L. Collins, 75 STILLMORE -- Mrs. Erchie Coxwell Collins, 75, died Saturday at Candler County Hospital in Metter after a short illness. The Emanuel County native was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She was a retired registered nurse who received her nursing degree from Louisville General Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She had worked at hospitals in Washington, DC, Savannah, Swainsboro, and Metter and at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Metter. Surviving are her husband, R. L. Collins of Stillmore; a son, Remer Collins of Savannah; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith and Mrs. Marjorie Scott, both of Stillmore and Mrs. Cola Loome of Chicago; and a grandson. Services were held Sunday at 2:30pm from the chapel of Hooks Mortuary in Metter with Elder Chubby Driggers and the Rev. Guy R. Boatright officiating. Burial was in the Sim Waren Cemetery near Stilmore. Pallbearers were Claude Bird Jr., Elwyn Coleman Jr., Ellison Durden, Michael Durden, Jery Feutralle and Vernon Mercer. Honorary pallbearers were William Collins, Henry Johnson, Ivey Durden, Larry Jones, Marty Boatright, J. F. Hudson, Dewey Warren, Wilson Boatright, Dale Boatright, and Harry Slater. Hooks Mortuary of Metter was in charge. Additional Comments: Erchie was born 16 Oct 1908 to Jeremiah Benjamin Coxwell and Marietta "Etta" Canady Coxwell who are also buried in the Warren Cemetery.
