                               R. L. Collins, 72
 METTER -- R. L. Collins, 72, died Thursday in an Augusta Veterans 
Administration Hospital after a long illness.
 The Emanuel County native was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II. He was 
a member of Disabled American Veterans.
 Funeral was held at 11am Saturday at Hooks Mortuary with burial in Sim Warren 
Cemetery near Stillmore.
 Surviving are a son, Remer Collins of Savannah; five sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bird 
of Jesup, Mrs. Virginia Smith and Mrs. Sallie Durden, both of Milledgeville, 
Mrs. Editha Thigpen of Swainsboro, and Mrs. Gladys Merder of Metter; a brother, 
Earl Collins of Milledgeville; and a grandson.
 Hooks Mortuary of Metter had charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Remer was born 23 Mar 1912. His wife, Erchie Coxwell Collins is also buried in 
Warren Cemetery.
