Fletcher, Swainsboro SWAINSBORO, Ga., Sept. 15 -- Thomas F. (Tobe) Coxwell, 92, son of the late Jerry and Martha Jane Coxwell, died Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Youmans Sr. of Lexsy, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J. R. Youmans Sr. of Lexsy, Mrs. Essie Bell Sumner of Atlanta, Mrs. W. A. Sumner of Swainsboro, Mrs. Thomas Smith of Jacksonville, and Mrs. H. E. McCarty of Atlanta; two sons, Thomas J. and E. H. Coxwell of Swainsboro; one sister, Mrs. george Mosley of Glennville; 37 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. He was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, where services will be held Friday at 4:30pm by Elders P. H. Byrd, R. M. Riner, and Vendy Hooks. Burial will be in the chuch cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Hostillo Jr., Ollie Youmans, Lonnie Edenfield, Roy Hooks, Elsie Hooks, Johnnie Amerson, E. L. Overstreet, and Harry Grimes. The body will be at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Youmans until time for the funeral. DeLoach Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Thomas was born 14 Aug 1865 to Jeremiah J. "Jerry" Coxwell and Martha Jane Kitchens Coxwell. His wife was Betty Edenfield Coxwell is also buried in New Hope Church Cemetery.
