                Mrs. Mary Kersey Jones Succumbs in 76th Year
 Final services for Mrs. Mary Kersey Jones, 76 of Swainsboro, were held at 3pm 
at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church.
 Elders R. M. Riner and William Claxton officiated with burial in the Sardis 
Church Cemetery near Kite.
 Mrs. Jones died Thursday in a local nursing home.
 She was a native of Laurens County and a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive 
Baptist Church.
 Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alma S. Boone of Swainsboro and Mrs. 
Marie Jeffers of Savannah; two sons, Joseph Kersey of Swainsboro and Kenneth 
Kersey of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Dallas Odum and Mrs. Geneva Toler of 
Swainsboro; and three brothers, Freeman and Arthur Peacock of Swainsboro and 
Oscar Peacock of Savannah.
 Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.


Additional Comments:
Mary was born 4 Nov 1897 to Joseph Jackson Peacock and Elmira Kersey Peacock. 
Her 1st husband, Benjamin J. "Ben" Kersey is also buried in Sardis Primitive 
Baptist Church Cemetery.
