Elders R. M. Riner and William Claxton officiated with burial in the Sardis Church Cemetery near Kite. Mrs. Jones died Thursday in a local nursing home. She was a native of Laurens County and a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alma S. Boone of Swainsboro and Mrs. Marie Jeffers of Savannah; two sons, Joseph Kersey of Swainsboro and Kenneth Kersey of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Dallas Odum and Mrs. Geneva Toler of Swainsboro; and three brothers, Freeman and Arthur Peacock of Swainsboro and Oscar Peacock of Savannah. Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Mary was born 4 Nov 1897 to Joseph Jackson Peacock and Elmira Kersey Peacock. Her 1st husband, Benjamin J. "Ben" Kersey is also buried in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
