                       Mrs. Ruby Rowland Kersey, 77
Mrs. Ruby Rowland Kersey, age 77, of Adrian, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at 
Heritage Healthcare of Swainsboro. Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 9 
at 3 p.m., at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Church with Elder Calvin Watkins 
officiating. Interment followed in the Sardis Cemetery.
Mrs. Kersey, born in Jeff Davis County, had lived most of her life in Emanuel 
County. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Rest Primitive Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashley and Annie Mae Rowland; two 
brothers, George A. "Sonnyman" Rowland and Asa Rowland; and one sister, Margie 
W. Schappert.
Survivors included one son, Austin E. Kersey of Adrian; two daughters, Gayla 
K. Douglas (Donald) of Adrian and Glynis Kersey of Adrian; four grandchildren, 
Thomas A. Douglas, Deanne D. Bell, Melisa N. Kersey, and Benjamin A. Kersey; 
one great grandson, Timothy H. Bell; and one sister, Judy Neal (Johnny) of 
Dearing.
Pallbearers were Reverend Wayne Page, Ralph Page, Randall Love, Milton Cordry, 
Ivan Mills, Reverend Royce Kersey, and Thomas Douglas.
Tomlinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
