                          Pierce D. Leonard Sr.
 Pierce Dorsett Leonard Sr. of 1038 Wilson St. died Tuesday in an Augusta 
hospital.
 The funeral will be held at 2pm Thursday in First Southern Methodist Church 
with Rev. H. Emmett Hutto officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Vernon 
Robinson. Burial will be at 5:30pm in Swainsboro (Ga.) City Cemetery.
 Mr. Leonard was a native of Davidson County, North Carolina and had lived in 
Augusta for 13 years. He was a retired auctioneer and was a member of First 
Southern Methodist Church. He was a member of the Brotherhood Bible Class, 
Sweeter Years Club, the Men's Fellowship, and the Men's Prayer Breakfast.
 Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Baird Leonard, Augusta; one daughter, 
Mrs. Thomas Ramsey, Charleston, SC; eight sons, R. H. Leonard, Jesup, Ga., J. 
R. Leonard, Pinckard, Ala., H. Tyson Leonard, Winston-Salem, NC, Michael K. 
Leonard, Charlotte, NC, H. M. Leonard, Sumter, SC, P. D. Leonard Jr., Mount 
Airy, NC, Warren B. Eubanks, Roanoake, Va., and the Rev. Shelton Eubanks, 
Monroe, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Black and Mrs. Sylvia Hatley, 
Lexington, NC, Mrs. Ola Fox, Churchland, NC, and Mrs. Louise Shiver, 
Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, R. H. Leonard and David Leonard, Lexington.
 Honorary pallbearers will be members of Brotherhood Bible Class.
 Friends may call at the residence or at Platt's Funeral Home.
 

Additional Comments:
Pierce was born 21 Oct 1900. Georgia death certificate #012992. His first wife 
was Mary Elizabeth Tyson Leonard who is also buried in Swainsboro City 
Cemetery.
