She was the widow of the late John Scott, who died December 9, 1905 and was one of Emanuel County's most highly esteemed citizens. Mrs. Scott is survived by four children,Frank Scott, Ohoopee, Ga., John Scott of this city; Mrs. J. W. Smith, of Lumber City, Ga. and Mrs. Walter (Elda) Gay of this city. She was a cousin of Ordinary John R. Flanders. Her husband fought through the Civil War as a private soldier of Company H, 48th Georgia Regiment. She was interred by the side of her husband in the family cemetery near Oak Chapel, Rev. Charlie Coleman officating. Additional Comments: Researching the ancestors and descendants of Britton Scott, father of John Scott. Britton was in Emanuel County in 1816.
