(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 3, 2011, 10:08 am The Swainsboro Blade 10-14-1992 Page 4A Roy Page Final rites for Roy Page, 73 of Swainsboro, were held at 3pm Monday from the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary. The Rev. John Strickland officiated. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Mr. Page died Saturday in University Hospital, Augusta, after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Emanuel County, he was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Page was a 27 year employee of Swainsboro Sportswear. He was a farmer and former employee of Georgia Highway Department. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Tyson Page of Swainsboro; two sons, Donny Roy Page of Woodlands, Tex. and Dean Royce Page of Woodstock; a twin sister, Mrs. Ruth Rowland of Adrian; two brothers, George Page of Swainsboro and W. R. Page of Summertown; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Andy Freeman, Nicky Perkins, Ezra Price, Johnny Cowart, Grable Wilson, Ray Henry, Stanley Tyson, and Wayne Page. Honorary pallbearers were former employees of Swainsboro Sportswear cutting department. Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Roy was born 17 Jan 1919 to James Phillip "Jim" Page and Bessie Lou Moore Page. Georgia death certificate #042074.
