Phillips, 84, of Adrian, died Thursday in Emanuel County Hospital after a long illness. The funeral was conducted at 2pm Friday from the chapel of Peebles-Curry Mortuary, Swainsboro. The Rev. David Phillips officiated. Burial was in Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Treutlen County. Mr. Phillips was a resident of Adrian and was a retired farmer. He was a former employee of Adrian Housing Company and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eunie Mae Woods Phillips of Adrian; a brother, G. B. Phillips of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jimmy Woods, Wayne Morris, Hugh Foskey, Phil Foskey, Jack Foskey, Ben Wammock, and Harry Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Warren G. Douglas, J. D. Douglas, Zackie Douglas, O. G. Douglas, Carl Gillis Jr., Ernie Peebles, J. R. Woods, Jim Lee Loyd, Henry Flanders, John H. grant, and Hubert Rowland. Peebles-Curry Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Morris was born 4-5-1903.
