RETIRED WELDER Mr. Ashley ''Asa'' Rowland Jr., 75, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Carl Vinson Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dublin. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church, Meeks, with the Rev. Donnie Bush officiating. Burial will be in Lamb's Cemetery, Emanuel County. Mr. Rowland, a native of Johnson County, had retired as a welder from Fulghum Industries and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Page Rowland; three daughters, Shirley Edenfield, Adrian, Elaine Hutcheson, Swainsboro, and Patricia Edenfield, Sandersville; three sisters, Ruby Kersey, Adrian, Judy Neal, Thomson, and Margie Shappert, Florida; and four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Hutcheson, Tony Hutcheson, Cheney Hutcheson, Charles Radford, Ben Radford and James Edenfield. Friends may call at the residence of Ruby Kersey, Norristown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Tomlinson Funeral Home, Swainsboro.
