MARJORIE SCOTT KENTUCKY BAPTIST HOSPITAL RETIREE Mrs. Marjorie Coxwell Tyler Scott, 89, of 311 E. Third Ave., died Friday, April 18, 1997, at St. Joseph Hospital, Savannah. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, with Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Twin City. Mrs. Scott, a native of Stillmore, was a graduate of Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing, Nazareth College, and Indiana State University. She was surgical director of Louisville General Hospital, Kentucky, for several years, then served on the State Board of Nursing Education and Registration. She was executive director of the Kentucky Board of Nursing and chaired the board of Kentucky Baptist Hospital, Louisville. She was a member of the National Board of Registration, and she served on the board of directors of the Kentucky Nursing Association for 44 years. She served on the Kentucky State Mental Health Commission as project coordinator of research during the 1960s. She received the 1972 Community Service Award from the Commonwealth of Kentucky Hospital Association, and she was named an honorary Kentucky Colonel. She retired in 1982. Mrs. Scott was a member of Suburban Christian Church, and she attended Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include three nephews, Remer L. Collins and Jerry Smith, both of Stillmore, and Clebourne Smith, Richmond Hill; and five nieces, Nadija Durden, Margaret Fields and Mary Davis, all of Stillmore, Mary Murphy, Chicago, and Joyce Davis, Shoreline, Wash. Pallbearers will be R.L. Collins Jr., Michael Durden, Jerry Feutralle, Tommy Murphy, Roy Riggelman and Derek Smith. Memorials may be made to Suburban Christian Church, 7515 Westport Road, Louisville, Ky. 40222. Friends may call at the residence of Nadija Durden, 308 E. Third Ave. The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Marjorie was born 26 May 1907 to Jeremiah Benjamin Coxwell and Marietta Canady Coxwell who are buried in Warren Cemetery in Stillmore, Georgia. Her 1st husband was Adam R.
