Stephens, 66, a native of Emanuel County died in a local hospital, Wednesday January 22, after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Jack Stephens and was a member of the Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, the former Lottie Tyson of Swainsboro; one son, Hollis J. Stephens of Swainsboro; three daughters, Mrs. T. M. Allmond of Phoenix City, Ala., Mrs. Pauline Smith of Swainsboro, and Mrs. A. M. Allmond of Garfield; five sisters, Mrs. Maude Tyson, Mrs. J. H. Cobia , and Mrs. Oscar Curl, all of Savannah, Mrs. T. S. Tyson and Sims Kersey, both of Swainsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at 3:30pm from the Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder N. A. Roberts, Elder Gus Walden, and Dr. Otis Brooks officiating. Burial was in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. D. Boatright, Elmo Blackburn, Lewis Jones, Robbie Stephens, Frank Rogers, and Archie Hutcheson. Peebles-DeLoach Mortuary in Swainsboro was in charge of the funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: Albert was born 14 Feb 1891 to Jacj Stephens and Rebecca Mose Stephens.
