                        Denson N. Thompson
 Denson Neal Thompson, 87, of 1398 Starnes St. died Friday at the residence 
after an extended illness.
 Mr. Thompson, a native of Emanuel County, Ga. was a retired farmer. He had 
lived in Augusta almost 17 years.
 He was the husband of the late Mrs. Mattie Riner Thompson.
 He was a deacon in the Primitive Baptist Church for 50 years.
 Survivors include four sons, Lundy S. Thompson of Warner Robins, Ga., Robbie 
D. Thompson of Graniteville, SC, Eddie D. Thompson of Augusta, and Freddie W. 
Thompson of Savannah; two daughters, Miss Lurlie F. Thompson of Milledgeville 
and Mrs. Eunie Pearl Bradford of Augusta; three stepsons, Brown Watkins and 
Morris Watkins, both of Augusta and Morgan Watkins of Thomasville; one step-
daughter, Mrs. Mattie Lou Thomspon of Macon; one brother, Willie Thompson of 
Augusta; and three sisters, Mrs. Vianah Moore and Mrs. Savannah Deriso, both 
of Augusta and Mrs. Nora Riner of Wrightsville, Ga.
 Funeral services will be held at 4pm Sunday in Sardis Primitive Baptist 
Church, Emanuel County, with Elder D. J. Newman officiating, assisted by Elder 
Rollie Riner. Interment will be in the churchyard cemetery.
 Pallbearers will be Ray Thompson, Edwin Thompson, Grady Thompson, Joe 
Thompson, Alwyne Thompson, and Ernest Watkins.

Denson was born 13 May 1873 to William Warren Thompson and Sara Riner 
Thompson. Georgia death certificate #35355.
