Thompson, died Friday at a local hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church, Emanuel County, with the Rev. J. F. Rodgers and Elder Rollie Riner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Amanda Beasley Tyson. She was a member of Pauline Gospel Church of Augusta. Survivors other than her husband include two daughters, Mrs. Willie Wells and Mrs. John D. Ray Sr., both of Augusta; two sons, William Felton Thompson, Augusta and Remus W. Thompson, Macon; one sister, Mrs. Dora Riner, Tampa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Thompson, William W. Thompson, Donald W. Thompson, Don Waters, Ronald Woodham, and James Rabun. The family is at 2027 Fenwick St. Friends may call at the church at 2pm.
