Thompson Willie Dean Thompson, of 2027 Fenwick St., died Wednesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3pm in the Sardis (Ga.) Primitive Baptist Church with the Revs. J. F. Rodgers and Rollie Riner officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery. He was a native of Emanuel County but had lived in Augusta for 45 years. He was a retired salesman and a member of the Pauline Gospel Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy T. Ray and Mrs. Ellie Bell Wells, Augusta; two sons, Remus W. Thompson, Macon, Ga. and William F. Thompson, Augusta. Pallbearers will include Ronnie Thompson, Billy Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, Donnie Thompson, John D. Ray Jr. and Don Waters. Friends may call at Platt's Funeral Home, the residence or at the church from 2pm until the hour of services. Additional Comments: Willie was born 8 Dec 1883 to William Warren Thompson and Sarah Riner Thompson. His wife, Julia Tyson Thompson, is also buried at Sardis Cemetery.
