                 Funeral Services For Mrs. Georgia Curl Townsend
 Mrs. Georgia Curl Townsend, 46, passed away at her residence Sunday morning 
at 5:45 o'clock after several months illness. Mrs. Townsend was born in 
Emanuel County, the daughter of the late George D. Curl and Ruthy Prysock 
Curl, both natives of Emanuel County. She was a member of the First Methodist 
Church of Swainsboro.
 Survivors are her husband, J. Murphey Townsend of Swainsboro; two sons,  J. 
D. Townsend of Columbus, Ga. and Beauford Townsend of Paris, Texas; three 
sisters, Mrs. Wynie Lawson of Swainsboro, Mrs. Jordan Coleman of Wesley, and 
Mrs. Gladys Page of Adrian; three brothers, D. L. Curl of Swainsboro, J. A. 
Curl of Swainsboro, and Oscar Curl of Savannah; one grandaughter, Miss Shearl 
Townsend of Columbus, Ga.
 Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30pm from the First Methodist Church 
in Swainsboro with Rev. H. S. Brooks and Elder Sidney Claxton officiating. 
Burial was in the city cemetery. Pallbearers were: Donovand Smith, Carl 
Leaptrott, Dr. C. Roy Williams, Willie Fields, Roy Brannon, Darius Brown, and 
Melvin Lawson.
 Swainsboro Mortuary ws in charge of arrangements.

Georgia was born 30 May 1903. Georgia death certificate #21458.
