Tyson, 78, of Swainsboro were held at 5pm Thursday from Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Rollie Riner, Elder Gus Walden, and Elder V. F. Agan officiated and burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Fred Terry, Josh Lewis, Hugh Coleman, J. R. Peebles, W. E. Gray, and A. M. Allmond. He died last Wednesday in a Savannah hospital. He was a retired employee of Georgia Public Service Commission. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Zackie Lawson and Mrs. Rufus Webb, both of Swainsboro; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Peebles-Curry Mortuary of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Tom was born 8 May 1890 to James Henry "Jim" Tyson and Jane Kersey Tyson. His wife was Maggie Stephens Tyson who is also buried in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Georgia death certificate #024865.
