Jonathan Coleman of the State and County aforesaid being old and infirm in body but of sound disposing mind and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain in this my last will and testament that is say first of all I give my Soul in to thee hands of Almighty God who give it to me my body to the Earth to be buried in a desent Christian like manor and as to what propity I have yet undivided my will and desire is that it distributed among apart of my children as follows I having given the rest of them what I entended in princeple my will and desire is that my wife Polley be ______ an have the use of buildings in our occupy during her natural lifetime together with the use of so much of the plantation tools household and kitchen furniture and her choice horses and as much stac___ary other discretion as shall be necessary for her comfortable suport also my will and desire is that my two oldest negros wimen to wit Ann and Chaney wimin on the plantation during the natural life time of my wife and aid and supporting her and after her decease my will and desire is that they be at libirty to live with either of my children whom they or eithere of them may choose and to change there residence ammong them if they should so desire. Items I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Rachel Coleman my negro woman named Jane_____ and her child ___Hanits and George there increase also one feather bed besides and furniture and one spining wheel to her and her heirs. Items I give and bequeath to my two sons Lindzey and Elisha Coleman my possession of lands when an I now live except as before stated relative to my wife also one feather bed besides and furniture and one spining wheel to Elisha the same to them and there heirs forever. Items I give and bequeath to daughter Demrias Coleman seven hundred dollars to her and heirs forever also in like manor one feather bed bedstid and furniture and one spining wheel also it is my will and desire that the money this money I have bequeath to my daughter Demarias Coleman be raised by my executors in the manor following vis that they expect to sail all of propity not otherwise desposed of by this will and after paying my daughter Demaris her lagacy in money then the balance to be equally divided her and sister Sarah Coleman now Sarah Bishop and lastly I do hereby nomenate constitute and appoint my beloved sons Matthew Coleman and Elindzy Coleman executers to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me made by me made allowing realif giving and confirming this and this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven. Jenkins and Matthew Coleman who being duly sworn deposeth that saith an oath that they saw Jonathan Coleman assign seal acknowledge publish and declare this foregoing to be his last will and testament and that he the said Jonathan Coleman do ordain and appoint Matthew Coleman and Elindzey Coleman to be his true and lawful executors to his said last will and testament and that the deponant did assign the same as subscribing witness at the request of said deceast and also saw John Love assign the same as a witness in his presents.
