I Mathew Gay of the County of Emanuel and State of Georgia, being of sound and disposing mind and memory for which I feel truly grateful to the _____________ (not legible) of all _______________do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: to wit. After the payment of all my debts and after my death I do give decree and bequeath unto my below children, to wit: Mitchel, Richard, Batt, Berry, and Mary, my five youngest children, all my property of every kind and description of which I may be possessed or entitled to at my death of any kind and description whatsoever to be divided equally between them share and share alike. I wish my said children to live ______ together upon my land. (Next three lines are not legible) Lastly, I nominate and appoint my two sons Mitchel Gay and Lewis Gay executors of this my last will and testament conforming qualifying this and no other to be my last will and testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 21st day of October 1840.
