Woodrow Brewton

CLAXTON -- Woodrow Brewton, 56, died yesterday in Kissimmee, Fla.

He was a native of Evans County.

Survivors are two brothers, Palmer Brewton of Claxton and Nathan Brewton of 
Norfolk, Va.; seven sisters, Mrs. Loretta Zittrower of Denmark, Mrs. Thelma 
Durrence of Waycross, Mrs. Janie Akins of Reidsville, Mrs. Leona Rogers, Mrs. 
Mildred Bragg, Mrs. Jessie Brown, Mrs. Kathryn [sic - should be Catherine] 
Bragg, all of Savannah.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Antioch Baptist Church.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

NeSmith Funeral Home of Claxton is in charge.

Additional Comments:
Note:  Woodrow was the youngest of 11 children of Simon Wells Brewton (1865-
1932) and his first wife, Queen Elizabeth Bath (1872-1914).  He was born on 
December 28, 1913.  Woodrow served in World War II, Georgia PFC 20 Field 
Hospital.
