                               Alfred Keene
 CLAXTON--- Alfred "Buddy" Keene, 78, died Thursday at Bulloch Memorial 
Hospital in Statesboro.
 The Laurens County native lived in Statesboro since 1951 and was a member of 
the First Baptist Church in Claxton. He was owner of Reens Grocery in Claxton, 
retired after 20 years as Chief of the Claxton Fire Department and was a 
veteran of World War II. He was a member and past royal patron of Order of 
Amaranth.
 Surviving are his wife, Emily Rahn Keene pf Claxton; two daughters, Diane 
Rowe and Paulette Neal, both of Statesboro; two sisters, Stella Keene and 
Christine Jones, both of Dublin; six grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.
 Funeral: 11am Saturday at First Baptist Church, burial in Brewton Cemetery 
near Claxton.
 NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton.

Alfred was born 21 Jan 1914 to Alfred Lehman Keen/Keene and Arbellia Stewart 
Keeen/Keene. Georgia death certificate #015645.
