Mrs. Maggie Mixon

ELLABELL -- Mrs. Maggie Celeste Brewton Mixon, 76, died Saturday in the 
Pulaski Nursing Home after a long illness.

She had lived in the Eldora Community for the past 26 years and was a member 
of the Olive Branch Baptist Church.

Sons, Leon and Ernest Mixon, both of Georgetown, S.C., and Guy Mixon of Rising 
Sun, Ind.; three brothers Palmer and Woodrow Brewton, both of Claxton and 
Nathan Brewton of Norfolk, Va.; seven sisters, Mrs. C. A. Zetterower of 
Denmark; Mrs. Cliff Durrence of Waycross, Mrs. Carl Rogers, Mrs. Jessie Brown, 
Mrs. Katherin (sic - should be Catherine) Bragg and Mrs. Mildred Bragg, all of 
Savannah, Mrs. Jannie (sic - should be Janie) Akin (sic - should be Akins) of 
Claxton [sic - should be Collins]; four grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Olive Branch Baptist 
Church.

Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge.

Additional Comments:
Note:  Maggie was the 3rd of 11 children of Simon Wells Brewton (1865-1932) 
and his first wife, Queen Elizabeth Bath (1872-1914).  She was born on 
November 22, 1893.
