R. Early v. William Bradford, holding that the plaintiff Early could not have custody of his child wife, Artie Bradford aged 12, and the daughter of the defendant. Early sought her on the grounds that they were married in Fannin county, Georgia. Under the Georgia laws a bride must be 14 before a legal marriage. The wife stated in court that she did not want to live with her husband, but had been persuaded by him to run away and marry. Father and daughter left for their home. Early is 40 years old.
