Brookshire, 47, former resident of McCaysville (Fannin County), died of injuries received when struck by a hit-and-run car in New York City, where he had been residing for the past few months. Son of the late Riley G. and Minnie Ellis Brookshire, he was born and reared in McCaysville. He attended the local school. He left the Copper Basin several years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Faye Greer, of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Alwayne B. Marlette, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Lawrence Holbrook, of Postelle, Tenn., and Mrs. Geral Brooks, of Copperhill, Tenn.; two brothers, Hugh and Bobby Brookshire, of Miami, Fla. and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 25th, at 4 p.m,. from the grave side in the Church of Christ Cemetery.
