From the McCaysville Citizen, McCaysville, GA, August 7, 1969:

Mrs. John Howard, age 82, of Blue Ridge passed away July 23, 1969 at 
the Watkins Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist 
Church of Blue Ridge. Mrs. Howard is survived by three daughters, 
Mrs. Reed Mason, Blue Ridge, Ga., Mrs. George Yeager, Ellijay, Ga., 
and Mrs. Ed Chastain, Alpharetta, Ga.; one sister, Miss Bessie Dilbeck, 
Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 
Interment was in the Rest Haven Cemetery.
