Larkin German entered as a private in Smith's Legion, Ga. Vol. on July 4, 
1862.  He later transferred to Co. B, 65th Reg. Ga. Inf. in March of 1863. He 
was appointed 2nd Sergeant on Jan. 19, 1864 and was appointed later to 1st 
Lieutenant. 
Larkin was the son of Thomas Didemus and Rebecca Brown German.  He was married 
to Mary Jane Davenport, the daughter of John N. and Nancy Parmley Davenport.
