Need help in identifying the other people in the picture. Zion Hill Baptist Church of Christ was established July 20, 1878. The charter members were J. F. Davenport, Melvin F. Davenport, Stephen D. Davenport, Sarah M. Davenport, Margaret T. Cornett, Sarah A. Davenport and Elizabeth A. German. On Dec. 14, 1878 the frist pastors were elected. They were L. Chambers and Joseph Kincaid. The first decons ordained were T. D. German and Alfred Worley. In 1893, B.H. Davenport deeded property to erect a church building. On Sept. 3, 1901, Henry P. and wife Hannah deeded more property to the church. The present church building at O'Zion was built in 1947. On July 2, 1927, Zion Hill United Baptist Church of Christ and Friendship Church met to consolidate into one church. They took the name of O'Zion Baptist Church. The church has had over twenty nine pastors, some who were; L. Chambers, Joseph Kincaid, James Ellis, Jonathan M. Davis, James L. Cornett, David Garland, Henry P. Davenport (who was pastor for 27 years), Garner Davenport, W. M. Humphrey, S. Humphrey, Sam Davenport, N.H. Tatum, Bill Stepp, F. A. "Ant" Davenport (pastor for 14 years), Ralph Smith, and Floyd Davenport. The church has had over twenty two decons some who were Larkin German, Lee Kendall, J.J.
