JOHNSON, CLK GEORGIA} This indenture made this twenty fifth day of Sept, Eighteen Hundred FAYETTE COUNTY} and forty three between Jeptha V. May and John McLane both of the same state & county ________forth that for and consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars in hand paid the recpt is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and conveyed unto the said John McLane a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred fifty two acres and half more or less laying in the sixth district of Fayette County No. one hundred & ninety eight and fifty acres off the south side of No. two hundred & nineteen to have and hold the said granted premises with the priviledges there unto belonging to him the said John McLane his heirs or assigns forever in fee simple for which I this __ Jephtha V. may do bind myself my heirs and assigns firmly by these presents to warrant and forever defend the claims or cl__ing of all persons whomsoever .
