This is from a handwritten list titled, "Hoke Smith Club".  It is written on the back of a 1907 property tax 
return.  I believe it was written by J. F. McLean. 
I only know at this point, that Hoke Smith was a controversial politican of the times.  I have a couple of 
references to him that I plan to read and learn a little more.
