E. COUCH DIES IN ACCIDENT AT HAPEVILLE Thomas Edward Couch 32, who resided on the Corinth Road in Fayette County, suffocated under tons of sand April 5 when he fell into a storage bin at a Hapeville concrete block firm where he was employed. Mr. Couch had worked there for only about a week. According to investigating officers, he apparently slipped while attempting to remove sand sticking to the sides of the bin. His body was found at the bottom of the bin. There were no witnesses to the accident. Funeral services were held for Mr. Couch at the Corinth Baptist Church in Fayette County on Friday, April 8, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Bill Willis and Paul Mowell officating.
