J. G. HIGHTOWER PASSES AWAY Mr. J. G. Hightower, a distinguished Confederate Veteran, died at his home in Kenwood Sunday after a somewhat lengthy illness. Mr. Hightower enlisted in the Confederate Army at the outset of the War Between the States, and served with distinction throughout the entire war. He was a member of Company B, Fourth Georgia Regiment. At the close of the war he returned to his native county of Upson, and then moved to Fayette County, where he made his home until his death. Funeral services were held at Liberty Chapel Methodist Church at Inman on Tuesday. Interment was in the Inman Cemetery. Rev. J. B. Askew of Hapeville and Rev. M. C. Allen of Fayetteville officiated. Mr. Hightower is survived by four sons, C. A., J. J., E. R., and B. G. Hightower, and one daughter Miss Janie Hightower. He had a host of friends who mourn his passing. The Enterprise joins with these friends in its sympathy for the bereaved family.
