Gray Mrs Susan E. Gray (nee Kempson) was born in Edgefield district, S. C., Aug. 23, 1830, and died April 4, 1923 -- aged 92 years, 7 months and 11 days. When about ten years old her parents moved to Georgia. In infancy she was given ta Christ in holy baptism, and early in life she confirmed the baptismal vow in the first Lutheran church built in Coweta county at what was then known as the "Cross Roads." She was a charter member of old Mt. Pilgrim church, which was built as early as 1847, or perhaps before that time. Later in life she transferred her membership to St. Phillip's church, Senoia. She was a most faithful and devout member of her church. She studied her church with keenest interest, supplied its needs to the limit of her ability, and lived the faith that she professed. She was married to Hosea Gray on May 22, 1856. To this union three sons and seven daughters were born. At her death her family numbered three sons, five daughters, twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in St. Phillip's church by her former pastor, Rev. A. W. Ballentine, of Ehrhardt, S. C., assisted by Rev. Karl L. Reisner, of Atlanta. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Line Creek church. A. W.
