His parents were William Jefferson Thomas I and Mahala Thomas. Josephine Freeman Thomas was his second wife; his first was Elizabeth Carnes, who is buried in an unmarked grave at Floyd Creek Church. Beaulah, Alice Lavada, A. Gus, William Jefferson, and John B. Thomas are children of Jack and Elizabeth Carnes Thomas. Luther Thomas was actually the child of John's sister Sarah, but was adopted and raised by John after Sarah's death. John's second wife was Georgia Josephine Freeman, who is buried with him. Willie Mae Thomas DeParlier, Nellie Thomas Randolph, George M. Thomas, and Clifford B Thomas are their children. Gus and Carrie Virginia Smith Thomas are the parents of William Lokey Thomas and Eva Thomas Hames. Gus’s formal name was Augustus Graham Thomas. Carrie Virginia was called Jennie in the family. Edith Regina Thomas is their granddaughter, but I do not know who her parents are. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
