This Indenture made this the fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Alberson of the State 
aforesaid and County of Walton of the one part and John Ellis of the same State 
and County of Floyd of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Edward 
Alberson for and in consideration of the sum one hundred and twenty five 
dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these 
presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold 
and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the said John 
Ellis his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and 
being in the fifth district of the fourth section of originally Cherokee now 
Floyd County known by lot number one hundred and fourteen containing one 
hundred & sixty acres more or less To have and to hold said tract or parcel of 
land unto him the said John Ellis his heirs and assigns together with all and 
singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise 
appertaining to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee 
simple and the said Edward Alberson for himself his heirs executors and 
administrators the said bargained premises unto the said John Ellis his heirs 
and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against 
themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever.  In witness 
whereof the said Edward Alberson hath hereunto  set his hand and seal the day 
(and) year above written.
