This indenture made the 2nd day of March 1829 between William Cook of South 
Carolina, Lawrence district of the one part and James Grimes of said State and 
District of the other.  Witnesseth that the said William Cook for and 
inconsideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the 
said James Grimes at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the 
receipt whereof he the said William Cook doth hereby acknowledge hath granted 
bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sale unto the 
said James Grimes his executors administrators or assigns all the west half of 
Lot 99 in the fourth district originally Henry now Fayette County. Together all 
and singular the rights members hereditaments and appertanances to the same 
belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining.  To have and to hold all and 
singular the premises above mentioned unto the said James Grimes his heirs and 
assigns forever.  And I do hereby bind my self my heirs executors and 
administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises 
unto the said James Grimes his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs 
and against every other person whomsoever.  Lawfully claiming or to claim the 
same or any part thereof.  Witness my hand and seal the day and year above 
written signed and delivered in the presence of us.
