This Indenture made and entered into this 25th day of February in the year of 
our Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty seven between John Jones of said 
county & state aforesaid of the one part and John Ellis of Floyd County and 
State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that John Jones for and in 
consideration of the six hundred dollars in hand paid by the said John Ellis 
the receipt whereof (is hereby acknowledged) hath granted bargained and sold 
and conveyed unto the said John Ellis his heirs and assigns all that tract or  
parcel of land lying and being in the fifth district fourth section formerly 
Cherokee now Floyd County number 116, one hundred sixteen, which will more 
fully appear by platt & grant  To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land 
unto him the (said) John Ellis his heirs and assigns together with all and 
singular the rights members appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner 
belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee 
simple and the said John Jones for himself his heirs executors administrators 
and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said John Ellis his heirs and 
assigns will warrant and defend forever the rite and title thereof against 
themselves and against the claim of all other person or persons whatsoever.  In 
witness whereof the said John Jones hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day 
and year above written.  Signed Sealed and delivered in presents off
