Written: August 8, 1833

Georgia, Floyd County

This Indenture made entered into this eighth day of August 1833 between Joseph 
H. Wats of the County of Morgan State above written of the one part and James 
Ellis of the County of Floyd of the other part & state above written of the 
other parts.  Witnesseth that the said Joseph H. Watts for and in consideration 
of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid at & before the sealing and 
delivery of these presents hath granted, bargained & sold & by these presents 
doth grant, bargain & sell unto the said James Ellis a certain tract or lot of 
land situate lying & being in the County of Floyd now formerly Cherokee County 
& in the sixteenth district & fourth section of said County of Floyd now.  
Known and distinguished by number one hundred & fifteen (115) by plat of said 
district containing forty acres more or less to have & to hold the said 
bargained land and premises unto him the said James Ellis his heirs & assigns 
together with all & singular the rights, members & appurtenances thereunto 
belonging or in any wise appertaining thereunto and the said Joseph H. Watts 
for himself his heirs executors administrators & assigns does hereby warrant & 
forever defend the rights and title thereof unto him the said James Ellis his 
heirs executors administrators & assigns forever in fee simple from the claims 
of all & every other person or persons whatsoever.  In Witness whereof the said 
Joseph H. Watts hath hereunto set his hand & fixed his seal day & year above 
written.
