Rome News Tribune Thursday, Feb. 19, 1968 Grand Jury Presentments The January Term 1968 of the Superior Court of Floyd County, Georgia Open Door Home – 5 Leon Street The Grand Jury committee visited the Open Door Home and interviewed Miss Loraine Smith, Superintendent of the Home. We made a tour of the Home and found it clean, well-ordered and comfortable. Citizens of Rome and Floyd County continue to express their interest in the Home in providing needed services and commodities to the Home. It was noted with satisfaction that construction of the badly needed additions was anticipated to begin in the near future. We feel the Home is fortunate in having the dedicated Miss Smith as Superintendant, and her qualified staff along with a cooperative Board who provide a well rounded program. The Open Door Home maintains and operated a charitable and non-profit organization to provide temporary aid to the dependent and neglected children of Rome and Floyd County.
