The Atlanta Constitution June 25, 1891
Rome, Ga., June 24.-- Rome has one of the most celebrated trotting stallions in 
the country within her borders.

The popular stockman and lover of fine horses, Mr. A. F. Ross, has him.  
Fairest is his name.

The horse trotted a quarter of a mile in a race in the same time of Maud S - 31 
seconds; a half-mile in a race, 1:06; and three trial miles in 2:19 each.

He is a young horse, and this fall a wonderful record is expected of him.  His 
sire is McCurdy's Hambletonian, 2:26, half-brother to Maud S.  Dam, Georgia 
Goddust, 2:33.

The horse is a medium-sized, splendidly muscled fellow.
