Atlanta Constitution

Rome Ga., February 15, --(Special)
Entries closed tonight for the white primary to be held on February 23,
for commissioners of Rome. There is no dearth of candidates for the
position of first commissioner, which pays a salary of $3,900 a year,
or for the four deputy commissioners' places, each paying $300 a year.

There are five candidates for the first commissioner's place, and
eighteen for the other four places.  It is likely that a second
primary will be held, as it is improbable that any candidate will
receive a majority of the votes cast.

For first commissioner there are:

J. R. Cantrell	  W. M. Gammon
and Cornelius Terhune.

For deputy commissioners:
