News was received in the city early yesterday morning telling of the death in Anniston of Mrs. Mary Durham Allen. She had been sick for some time with heart failure and this with her old age caused for death. Her husband died about five years ago and since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mr. G.L. Jameison. Mrs. Allen was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church. Her life was full of gentleless and of loving traits. Always anxious to help suffering and distressed humanity. When adverse circumstances would arise, she was always distinguished for that gentle spirit and reserved type makes the well-bred womanhood. The body will arrive this morning at 10 o'clock and will be carried on to Myrtle Hill, Dr. R.B. Headden officiating. She leaves to mourn her loss four boys and one girl, M.F. and L.T. Allen, of Atlanta; D.E. Allen, of North Carolina; Pat Allen and Mrs. G.L. Jameison, of Anniston.
