Arnold Dies, Last Rites Tuesday Mrs. T.J. Arnold, Sr. 88, of South Lindale died this morning in a Rome hospital. Mrs. Arnold had suffered an attack Saturday and was hospitalized. She suffered a second attack shortly before her death. Mrs. Arnold, the former Miss Mollie Gemes, was born in Bartow County April 3,1875, the daughter of the late Dallas and Arrie Dodd Gemes. She moved to Floyd County following her marriage to the late T.J. Arnold, Sr. and for a number of years with her husband and sons, operated the High Point Dairy. Mr. Arnold preceded her in death on June 1, 1949. A son, T.J. Arnold, Jr. also preceded her in death in 1940. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Lindale First Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She had made her home with a son, A.A. Arnold, Lindale. Surviving are three sons: Paul Arnold and A. Allen Arnold, both of Lindale and Stanley D. Arnold of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Willie Lumpkin of Rome; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. Leland Bailey, pastor of the Lindale First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot in East View Cemetery. Pall bearers will include Namon Bruce, Ray Jackson, Hank Phillips, Jay Jones, Jimmy Morris and J.W. Duke. The body will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock. Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
